This doesn't confirm that there will be any new episodes...

Should PAX be pushin up daisies, I think Sweep and possibly STYD would be good candidates for GSN to take over. I don't know if they skew the magic demographic, but there must be an audience for these shows. They've both been on forever.
The problem of course...would that audience have access to GSN?

Given NBC's somewhat partial ownership of PAX, I think both would be pretty decent properties for a daytime or possibly syndication lineup (thru NBC Enterprises). Both have reasonable budgets, and STYD's is even better, being they give away trips as their grand prize.

I doubt that they in fact are new episodes.

I have heard from a couple of inside sources that new episodes are indeed going to be produced for "Shop 'Til You Drop" and that a new set is being built.
On top of that, a friend of mine who auditioned for "Taboo" said he received an E-mail asking him if he was interested in audition for "Shop 'Til You Drop."
I haven't anything about how many episodes have been ordered, but PAX has indeed comissioned new episodes.

Thanks for the information, Mandel.
Wow, ok, I am wrong. Boy am I surprised.
I wonder how a network in financial limbo can afford to produce new episodes of any show? Not that I am complaining but I wonder why "Shop Till You Drop" instead of "Supermarket Sweep" (which I thought was a better show)? I also wonder if they brought back Pat Finn to host.
We shall see how this plays out...

Just speculation, but could it be that "Sweep" holds up in repeats, so PAX doesn't have to make new ones as often? I'm glad the network is commissioning some new production on SYTD, so maybe there is some hope for a new cycle of "Sweep" in a year or so.

Yes, new episodes. Several changes.

No Pat Finn, but you didn't hear that from me :)

Sorry to hear Pat Finn isn't coming back(if John R. is correct which I'm quite sure he is). ANy word on to who his successor will be? It'd be nice to see one of our own get the announcing gig, since his other shows have not been renewed, too.

Is Mark L. available (since there's supposedly no new RR eps in the works)?
Can he get off Temptation Island?

Talk about a show that just doesn't die. Glad to see it coming back.... again.
