Anyone know when her 100th birthday will be?

And there's Darryl Johnson--but you doesn't have to call him Johnson. His name is Darryl J. Johnson, Jr., but you can call him Dar--or you can call him Jay...

100 years after she was born, I'd think.

Five episodes? Pah, amatuers.

The UK version has just been recommissioned to run six days a week for the entirety of the next year.

The US is becoming more like the old British TV model with short-run series and "seasons" of 5-8 episodes, while the UK is adopting 52 week committments, like American TV used to do.

Not true for scripted programming, though--and as writer-driven as scripted programming in the UK is, that's not going to change any time in the foreseeable future.

For purposes of comparison, how many series does "Countdown" usually do a year and how many episodes per series?

Two series a year generally and it's on every weekday without breaks (except over Christmas, I think.)

It used to be two series sharing it's timeslot with 15-1, then they were both on all year round and Countdown had four series, now they do two longer series per year.
