To start with, a very nice 4 piece lot of 50s game show board games--"The Price is Right", "Name that Tune", "Twenty-One", and "Jan Murray's Treasure Hunt". Check the listing for more details on the games--but it would be a nice starting collection for someone.
Someone was just asking about this, I believe it might have been Sean. Finder's Keepers board game by Pressman.
Oh look, another check from the Check Game. Question: Was this ever played on the 80s syndie version, and if so, were the checks changed to "Tom Kennedy"?
An interesting combo, I guess...picture of both Col. Sanders and Bob Barker .
And, even though its for charity, one of the biggest jokes I've seen...2 tickets for The Price is Right, $100; but it says you are ineligible to be a contestant--so in essence, you're bidding on an uncertified autographed T-Shirt and Photo--and the item isn't listed under the normal charity auctions--its a regular listing.
One of Matt O's 10 rareities--The Diamond Head Game. This one took some digging--it didn't come up under my usual search terms.
For the music lovers, a 3-CD set with Chuck Woolery's "Naturally Stoned".

Furthermore, the assclowns selling the "Price is Right" music CD, and that "Price is Right" lightswitch are still peddling their product--I refuse to glorify their auctions by posting a link again.

Good grief! Another check from Check Game? That item must be very popular to sell on eBay these days. This is my 3rd sighting in the last 4 weeks or so.

I never knew there was a Diamond Head board game back in 1975. Maybe Bob Eubanks didn't get a chance to plug it on that farce of a show.

That TPIR ticket thing sure had me fooled. Then I realized "Hey! It's just a fake & it's only charity here". No point in going after that "joke".

No it wasn't.

Here's one for the veteran board game junkies..... a 1963 You Don't Say. Seller says it's complete, in "extremely good condition," and includes the promo pamphlet of MB games around that time.

Is this guy trying to pull off a scam? That controller looks absolutely nothing like the true WOF TV Games Controller, but more like one of their Classic Arcade Pinball Plug N' Play's painted black...Also, have there been any more sightings of these? Any at Wal-Marts or Toys R' Us yet?

The check looks like it's a relisting of the last auction posted here.

It didn't meet his reserve and the top bid was $129.50.

If the seller would spread these out over the course of a few months or even a year, it probably would have gotten more.

I suppose the buyers think the seller has quite a lot of these and why bother paying more if they don't have to.

The Name That Tune game is interesting because there is a drawing of a host on the box art. My copy of the game has a photo of George De Witt.

"There are two covers of the first edition which feature different images of Dewitt. One is a pencil drawing, and is extremely unflattering. Later covers featured a better-looking photograph."

Three guesses where that quote came from.

I wondered for some time why MB didn't make any new editions of YDS! since it lasted about as long as The Match Game which followed it on NBC. Just recently I came to one possible conclusion: Having seen the entire roll of Bonus Board names in the lone edition, I found that, with a number of them, it's a stretch to get the name based on the three clues provided. Maybe they just would have had trouble coming up with 120 (?) new names each year and decided to stop at one edition.

The box is also slightly longer that the one that held all those Jeopardy! editions, but they could have made everything fit into a J!-sized box.

I have a copy and that's actually a pretty cool box set of tunes. I love some of those obscure pop/rock hits from that era (a few non-obscure tunes made it as well). We also shouldn't forget that one time SCRABBLE contestant Walter Egan's on there as well (and yes, he did perform a snippet of "Magnet & Steel" during his SCRABBLE appearance).

Corrected link of above post

Apparently, the item's gone from eBay now -- "page not found".

The item is still up, it just appears that eBay no longer allows direct linking or something...I'm not sure...

Search for "Wheel of Fortune TV" and it'll be the first listing.

I don't know why, but Invision seems to be screwing the link up for some reason. Copy the link, paste it into your address bar, and delete the "%3Cbr%20/%3E" from the end of the link (no more, no less).

Not a criticism, just an aside: whenever I post links that have a ton of text arguments and such in them, I always try to trim them down. Places like Amazon and eBay really just need the unique item number/ISBN number/etc. in the URL to bring up the page.

Let's see if this works:

I'm guessing sales were disappointing compared to the trio of Password, Concentration, and Jeopardy, and MB didn't go back to the well.

There sure seem to be a hell of a lot of copies of the game on eBay -- how many other 40-year-old home games (aside from the three mentioned above) do you see as frequently?

I should point out for those thinking of investing in the game (I already have a copy) that YDS is one of the better adaptations out there, and it doesn't take a lot of explaining to someone who never saw the show (which is to say, almost everyone on the planet not on this group). Karen (my wife) picked it up very quickly and enjoyed it.

I'd say that it is either a "scam," or somehow a working prototype unit.

The packaging on the units I've seen, do not feature Pat and Vanna, nor any contestants at the Wheel. In fact, the puzzleboard, wheel, and contestant shown on the product offered on eBay, looks 100% like those on the official WOF internet site game.

Kohl's and Radio Shack are the only places I've seen it for sale. Amazon.com/ToysRUS.com have it listed as available, but "online only!"

"This guy" has over forty THOUSAND feedbacks and a positive score of 99.8%. Can we please think a little bit before we throw around words like "scam"? There's got to be a logical reason for the discrepancy that has nothing to do with a full-time Ebay dealer trying to rob you of ten dollars and fifty cents.
