Recently, in "Palace", conflicts have arose as to what clue giving rules should be allowed, and what shouldn't.

You're in the producers chair. What do you permit?

Didn't we just discuss this?

List some clues and I'll tell you if I permit it.

In what?

Palace. It's an interactive chat room where some of us go to play net game shows.

Wouldn't the first two examples be disallowed because they
have a form of the word in the Password?

I would have chosen: Sabbath for Sunday.

Astrologist for astrologer? Abso-freakin'-lutely not.

Buzz, buzz, and buzz.

Sunday: Sabbath.
Postman: Mailperson.
Astrologer: Stargazer.

Those are what I'd say.

"Mailperson" is a coined word. I don't think it would fly either.

"Stargazer" will get you "astronomer". "Horoscoper" is OK (it's a word; look it up).

Mailperson is OK but you'll sound like a dork saying it.

We have a winner, in my eyes. The whole part of the word thing should justly apply when the key component of the password is in play (usually the majority of the word). So Saturday for Sunday is permissable as is Postman for Mailman. But, the last is just too much even though they are different occupations per se. Isn't this the umpteenth thread of "Is this Password/Pyramid clue legal here"?

The "form of the word" rule means they have to be forms of the same word.

BOB IS RETIRING?!? I think his replacement should be...

Also, I have 13 different ideas of how retired pricing games could be brought back with rule changes...I will post them along with my GSN dream schedule and picks for permanent Barker's Beauties in a poll in which nobody is likely to participate.

OH and does anyone have any rare game show cues they're willing to give me for nothing in return?!?! :P
chris319
What game show will Bob Barker's corpse host?
bossjock967
I think Tom Bergeron should take over when Bob retires.

I'll be over here if you need me...

In the words of Richard Bey: WHERE DO THEY FIND THESE PEOPLE?
Answer: They're the holdovers from Price who had to settle for free tickets to the Late Late Show, they can't help themselves.

Not only that, but when the subject comes up. . .

We have to talk in different sizes and font colors.

Like this.
