Full Version: Whew! Remake Group Up!

Join the following group to download all three Whew! theme remakes I have created as of yet....

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/whewmusic

The only thing I want to do is the Closing. However, I don't have anything decent to work against. I have the 3 minute closing with applause, but this piece features constant pitch change, which sounds like a screw up.....If anyone can help me get a decent quality copy of the closing music without this pitch change, I would greatly appreciate it, and a Closing music remake would be done. Please tell me what you think!

It says "Document temporarily unavailable due to exceeded bandwidth, try again later"

DAMN!

lol Don't worry. Once all 10 of my fans stop downloading stuff, it should work. ;-)

I joined this morning, and I keep getting 403 errors. Let me try from my home connection, maybe it has to do with the firewall here at work...

Nope. Same again there.

Frankly, I'm not interested enough to jump through this many hoops. If there's a simple solution, I'd love to hear it, but I'm sure not gonna dedicate my evening to clicking on those links.

Haven't been able to access a thing all day. Yahoo is good for e-mail. Yahoo is bad for file downloads.

I'd be happy to provide a temporary mirror if I could actually get the files

Once again, there is no solution for downloading things from Y!G other than "try, try again".

In a couple of weeks, Y!G is going to start requiring sign-ups for all groups before one can access the bandwidth-sucking folders within. Perhaps that'll make some amount of difference.

They don't now? People can access files in groups without being a member? How freakin' lame is that?

EDIT: According to Yahoo's page, the only time this could be a problem is if you have intentionally set the access rights to the file section of your group to "Public", and if you do that yer a chowderhead anyhow. Now, granted, there are a LOT of chowderheads out there, and they could be what's sucking away the bandwith I need to hear these songs.

Our top story tonight....

Despite the attempts to put the themes in separate folders, The Yahoo Whew! theme music page is still dead!

Good night and have a pleasant tomorrow!

There. It's something and hopefully at least SOME of you can get something off the site. If anyone wants to do some temporary host thing, go right ahead.

Awsome Work! Now you just need to compose the end theme as heard here. http://www.broadcastsounds.com/whewend.rm

A use for Angelfire. Hell will freeze over any second.

So, if they're not MIDI, how did you put these together? I have to say they were certainly worth the wait...my only gripe is that the Main theme cuts off before I can get off "And now here's the star of our show, Tom Kennedy!"

Were these tracked by computer in some way (FrootyLoops, maybe?), or did you play them live?

In EVERY one of my remakes, I learn the parts and play them real-time. Starting off with one track. Then I record the next track over it, playing along with the first track i made. So these arent programmed, everthing is hand-performed, down to the tambourine. It gives the music more of a live feel, and not so musically correct.

The reason the open cuts off is because I never had a clip to work with that had Tom's Intro. So I came up with a sensible ending rather than working blindly.

The tracks are not MIDI. My keyboard has many instruments, about half called "General MIDI" so if i hooked the keyboard up to my comp, the MIDI would come out exactly as heard on the keyboard. I don't use general MIDI because the other keyboard settings are more realistic and sound good when layered. In many of the remakes, instruments are layered for a rich, more realistic sound. As for the drum, Because different drum kits are used in the different remakes I have, to be as accurate as possible, MIDI's would detract from the realism because of the limited, well.....ONE DRUM SET.

Wow. That is some freakin' good work.

Wow. Then I am genuinely impressed. The mixing is so good, and the parts are so detailed, I was convinced it was generated by machine. That's truly excellent work.

You have propelled me into pure game show euphoria. Excellent stuff.
