I was trying to see if anyone else heard this for fact... I would at least hope that my college English teacher would be a reliable source upon which to get information from... but apparently not...

But college professors are
always a reliable source of game show information... right, gang?
(Memo to wheelloon: if you don't get it, don't worry; you will, soon enough. :-)

In the meanwhile, can anyone confirm if Dick Clark will host New Year's Rockin' Eve? I've read articles online where they say he will, and others where they say he won't... here's one that says he says he very could miss it...
"Could" is the key -- every article I've read says they're taking a wait-and-see approach. He may not even know yet; it depends on how quickly he recovers.

btw, I am a college student... its not like i saw my first episode of pyramid 2 days ago, and its not like I'm 8 years old, I hate to burst your bubble...

I hate to burst
your bubble, but age and maturity aren't the same thing. Both here and in this board's predecessor (alt.tv.game-shows), we've had 13-year-olds who carried on intelligent discussion and people in their late 20s to early 30s who couldn't.
Moreover, Adam Kleist (from whom Chris coined the verb "to kleist") was, IIRC, only a year or so younger than your intro says you are. However, the fact that you acknowledged your mistake puts you ahead of Adam -- and if you actually learn from it you'll be miles ahead.
