Fascinating. The B/W print of the original color ABC telecast of The Dating Game must've been shortly after the show's conversion to color sometime in 1966.

It premiered in December 1965 in black and white.

Actually, the 1967 Dating Game was a B&W kinescope of a color program. Just thought you'd like to know! ;-D

It almost sounds like Line 'em Up was the basis for Make a Face, but I don't know for sure.

The B&W Dating Game illustration, if you look closely, shows the Game Show Network logo in the lower right hand corner. Probably just used that way on the eBay listing to show a sampling of a B&W image.

Yes, it was originally produced in B&W for ABC-TV daytime, and I believe the first color broadcast was their first primetime show, featuring Robert Vaughn in game one, and Sally Field in game two. I'm curious, and hopeful at the same time, that some B&W shows featuring the rock group The Regents (who appeared on stage, playing the theme music, about the first six months), exists somewhere.

A close source, who's corresponded with Jim Lange, says that, according to Lange, the group departed from the show, because the band members were drafted to Vietnam.
