In honor of the 20th anniversary of a game show contestant legend, I came up with this ditty. Yes it's sung to the tune of "The Beverly Hillbillies".
**************
Come & listen to a story of a man named Paul,
An ice cream vendor who lost his job & all.
But then one day he was watching CBS,
And found a show that he really like best.
(Game show that is; big bucks, no Whammies!)
Then he memorized the board, how the patterns went,
Bought a snazzy outfit for only 65 cents.
And then California is the place he ought to be,
So he got a plane ticket & went to Beverly.
(Boulevard that is, Television City in Hollywood.)
(faster tempo)
So Michael made the show & he racked up spins,
First hits a Whammy, thinking that he wouldn't win.
Then he ran the board that lasted for two shows,
And ended up with a whole lotta dough!

Well, looks like the trophy that Chris mentioned yesterday will fall back into the hands of the witch. Good grief.

Naw, that wasn't bad, actually. The tempo was awful, but it was a decent effort.

One thing though, he called Michael, Paul at the very beginning.

That's because that's his name. Paul Michael Larsen.
I didn't mind the poem but wished it would have included a line about his search for a serial number on 50,000 $1 bills!

Actually, all things considered, it wasn't too bad. The words were actually kinda fun.

And one year ago this month on GSN: The airing of Larsen's shows, WITHOUT those bugs covering the board, like they were on the BIG BUCKS special.
