Art Fleming, who would be 80 today!

Game show personality who was the original host of the popular television quiz show "Jeopardy," from 1964-1975. Prior to hosting "Jeopardy," Fleming was the announcer for the game show "Pantomime Quiz," and an assistant on "Doctor I.Q." Art also played Jeremy Pitt on the television series "The Californians" and Ken Franklin on the show "International Detective." Following his television career, Fleming moved to St. Louis to work as a radio host on the CBS-owned AM news/talk station, KMOX. He co-hosted a midday talk show, as well as a weekend radio game show called "Games People Play." He also hosted the nationally syndicated radio program "When Radio Was." Fleming retired from broadcasting in 1993. He passed away in 1995.

You know, for a minute I thought you were sending birthday wishes to one of those radio quizmasters from the 1930s-40s (Lew Valentine, John Nelson, Irene Beasley, etc.). At least it's someone we've heard about.

Anyhoo, happy birthday, Art! (SWAK!)

Cordially,
Tammy Warner--the 'Loretta Swit of the Big Board!'

You know what's funny, when I saw the words answer man, I thought of the Feud, since Burton calls Karn the answer man. For a minute, I thought it was Dickie Dawson.
