I believe this coming Saturday, March 20, will be PYL's big ep where Nina Jo beats Andrew...BY ONLY 3 DOLLARS!
I've never seen this ep, neither on CBS nor on USA Network but I have seen the winning clip in the opening. I can't wait to see and hopefully keep this ep. I've been waiting a looooong time to.

I'm pretty sure this will be going to the GSN board.

Bzz. The correct answer was The "Show Summaries" Board.
Erik, FosterGray, would the two of you please shake hands, and we will play 21.

Perhaps I should re-read the "What Could Be Simpler" thread. I had the impression that because it was talking about an upcoming event on GSN that it would still be on the GSN board. I was thinking that it could go under Show Summaries once the episode airs on 3/20.

Nope. The post's nature is to spoil an episode, so it goes under show summaries.

I'm new to the whole gameshow discussion format, so forgive me if this question sounds a tad naive, but just how can discussion of a 20-year-old episode be classified as a spoiler?

It doesn't, IMO. Certain individuals, however, feel the need to post whatever inane drivel they can think up.

Simple.......it basically boils down to the old NBC adage, "If you haven't seen it, it's new to you!" As for myself, I've been a (ir)regular PYL viewer since its USA days and I don't remember seeing this one in its entirety, so I'll definitely be watching.

If you go to the board's front page, the caption under "Show Summaries" specifically says "individual episodes, including reruns and GSN classics"

Man, what a fun episode (even if the fee plugs and credits were completely nuked to get right to the first strains of WoF). Even without the $3 margin of victory for Nina Jo, the "game within a game" between Andrew and Paul was as riveting as you get (at least, IMHO).
And a funny little blooper to boot as the graphics maven mattes "John Wayne" instead of "John Warner."
Thanks to AmazingErikZ for the heads-up.

Agreed. That was an excellent episode for the reasons Doug said. I'm not a PYL fan by any stretch of the imagination but today's episode ranks up there with the Larson two-parter and both of Gene Snyder's eps., IMO. I'm glad I set the VCR about 10 mins. before the airing.
One other tidbit which I thought was funny: Andrew sorta called his own shot in one spin. He said he wanted a motorcycle. He hit Pick a Corner with $2250, Ixtapa (I believe) and...the motorcycle. What did he choose? The cash.

This was a funny episode! Andrew did good Stooge impressions, and even hit the button with his head once like a karate chop! Forget Beverlie Peters!!

Well, I finally got to see it, and I loved every minute of it! Hard to tell who was weirder, Andrew or Nina-Jo. I kinda felt sorry for Paul when helost $20K+.
What a wild, long game! They almost ran out of time with all that happened.
I LOVED IT!!!
Oh, in the future, I promise to place any other important ep in the "Show Summaries" forum.

I think that was the best episode of the 84-85 season BY FAR. It exemplified everything that PYL was about: silly contestants, spin battles, games turning on one spin, great strategy, and close wins. As a matter of fact, I don't believe this episode ever aired in USA's PYL package (Zach? Jason H.?), due to the overrun.

I have to tell you, that episode was more climatic than the Chris vs. Ruth (Ruth won by $10) episode.

Dude, chill. I think that's kinda implied in most posts. It wasn't like he said "You'd have to be a jackass to think differently" or anything

And yesterday's (3/21) airing was a weird follow-up, with what had to be at or near a record low of seven spins earned by the players in the second question round. Nina Jo took at least 30 seconds to give an answer to one question, after Peter repeated the three possible answers twice and the question once. And, going into commercial at the end of round one, they showed the same viewer-submitted Whammy poem that they did just two or three show earlier.

As for the USA rerun package, since this was one of the syndicated episodes of 1987, I think USA did run it since they started with those episodes when they first picked up the show. I started watching the USA reruns in '92, and it never aired after that.
Since I've lost GSN because their C-Band signal has disappeared, I wasn't able to record it, so I'm wondering if (to borrow Chuck's line) if AGTOT?

IGTOT as well....and to answer a few questions....
despite being the PYL young'un of the group, I can safely say I saw the episode but ONLY ONCE that I can remember, and I have a very good memory. So this aired once in the regular run, and once on USA, and (very thankfully) once on GSN. I was actually afraid this show either wasn't going to air at all, or would be chopped up worse than the Randy/Lori/Cathy episode. In actuality, the run-time for the whole episode was about....27 minutes? Yeah, TWENTY-SEVEN minutes! Well...from the original tape.
For all the negative stuff people have said about this network lately, you should really thank GSN this time for airing such a gem, and with so few commercials.
I totally agree with everyone else's sentiments that this show was one of the best of the 84-85 season, but Don, calm down please! What crawled up your posterior?
