Lots of new stuff, and sadly the deletion of some old stuff (the tv-gameshows.com and matchgame.org links). Enjoy!

One "new" link (Storybook Squares) seems to be dead already.

The "yesterdayland" site died once, but somebody tried to resurrect the individual pages on his own. Apparently he's given up as well due to the high traffic they generate. Here's the message:
-----------------
I see now why Yesterdayland.com went out of business. After a few months of hosting an archive of their pages, it was apparent that they were responsible for nearly all of my traffic, so I looked into hosting options. I found a free web host which would give me 5Gb of transfers per month. After three days, the Yesterdayland pages had already consumed over 3Gb. (Around 300,000 hits per day!) Each additional 1Gb over 5 would cost me $1, and I'm not about to pay $25/month to host an archive of a defunct web site. Furthermore, I don't own the rights to the intellectual property that comprises Yesterdayland, nor have I received permission from the owners. So, no, putting ads on the site is not something I can do. Sorry.
-----------------
This decision of his happened in December, after I had already verified the links. So I'll take them out on my next sweep, if not sooner.

In addition, Matt, the FlashGames site has a new URL, and it's
http://www.flashgameshows.com

Thanks. Also, I see that Sadro's decided to turn the Bob Stewart shrine over to Chris Lambert, so that's forty more links I have to change. Never a dull moment for The Compendium.

Which means they're back up! I'm surprised someone didn't report this sooner!
This is great news!

Also, I noticed that there are links to show pages at my website; just wanted to let you know that the website has moved to gameshowfavorites.com and the old subdomain no longer exists. I have kept the directory structure the same. I don't know what editor (if any) you use to code the page, but a simple Replace All might do the trick. :)

Somehow, I KNEW that was coming :-P

Are all of the greats going down at once? Seems like, just here in the last year or so, a LOT of great sites have closed up shop.
Ah well, that's life.

Happy news indeed! I got a number of IE messages saying "The specified server cannot be found," but the games seem to work and the message board's there.

Websites come and go, especially fan sites put together by college students who move on to other interests. There are tons of abandoned sites on Geocities that may never disappear. Still, I think the only two "major" game show sites to close up shop this year were Brian's matchgame.org and Mike's tv-gameshows.com, and Mike's still keeping the popular Whew! page. They'll both be missed, but I don't think it suggests a trend or anything.

Oh, and the "geocities.com/danny24_y2k/millionairegame" link is also dead.
