Well, regardless if you made it up to contestants row or not, it still sounds like you had a heck of a time. BTW, Did that hotel room really have PINK & ORANGE carpeting?

Back on topic...

Is it just me, or is it always good to hear that Randy West is behind the announcers booth for TPIR again?

I wouldn't lie to ya.... pink and orange carpet! Looked like a bad Trading Spaces makeover!

You'll likely see a lot of the three of us on camera. My brother said Randy is PERFECT for TPIR and I couldn't agree more. Burton just doesn't do anything for me. It's like, the energy is there, but there's definitely something missing, and Randy just has the edge Burton doesn't have.

Exceeded allocated data transfer. What a COMPLETE shock.

I'd LOVE to know what that number is. 20, 30K per day?

It seems Randy was having trouble with the Internet connection on his private island in the Caribbean, so he asked me to post this for him:

Your brother has excellent taste!!

Thanks Matt, I'm so glad you had fun. It was great seeing you and your guests. I only wish they weren't taping some special stuff in the studio after the show that day. I would have enjoyed giving you the backstage tour. Thanks again for the very kind words. I appreciate it so much.

I saw TPIR with Randy at the announcing helm. I was impressed. I don't know if it's a done deal, but as far as I'm concerned, he's the man now. Burton Richardson is also good, but with Randy he is Johnny Olson and Rod Roddy all rolled into one.

Hey Randy... I did like your Charlie O'Donnell-esque way of announcing someone can win up to "fiftyyyy thooouuussannndd dollars" on Plinko. hehe.

Rob,

Thanks for the kind words! Yep, the "$50,000" delivery was heavily inspired by the classic style that Charlie is the very best at. You have an educated ear! It's an exciting way to dramatize the big bucks in a way that's different than the "surprise reveal" style used for cars. After all, $50,000 warrants the impact, but is no surprise to regular viewers once they've just learned "Plinko" is the game. I plan to give Charlie O a nickel in royalties when I next see him. ;-)

Chris, thanks for deleting and reposting my wayward post. The fact is I was shocked to see that, at first, my post hit the board attributed to Mandel! Lo and behold I was on a laptop that, when last used to visit our site, was apparently used by Mandel in Reno.

And yes, the Reno show ROCKS!! Todd is a wonderfully engaging personality and the audiences embrace him. He's funny, fast on his feet, and great at milking the good moments. The show is well staged with a well crafted format that allows for maximum audience participation, yet remains wonderfully true to the TV show in its play of some of our fave games. Andy Felsher and Cathy Dawson are dedicated pros who learned their craft at "Old Skool Goodson", and are wonderful to work with. I know that Mandel has also contributed his classic sensibilities and knowledge of "Price" in keeping the stage show pure. The audiences LOVE it - it's a sell-out nightly and has been extended into February (following a holiday break). I was very impressed, even before I had a few drinks! What a great week!
