Is this a program that we all recognize as a game show or is it something on the order of Survivor or Big Brother?

Was it specifically named FOR the game show, or does it just happen to share the name of one? 'Cuz one's a lot more interesting than the other.

Sorry. They changed their name to Pants Off Dance-Off, South Dakota in 2007. Not a pure game show.

Yes. Three down, seven to go. Miss Francis?

I know the answer. At least I know an answer, whether it's the only one I couldn't say.

The fact that I know it could be considered a clue.

Yes and no. Some are living, some are not. That is to say, it's been hosted by many people.

I'm pretty sure at least one person here is close, so I'll wait for a guess.

Basing off of shows with several hosts, some living, some not, my top 5 guesses:

-Concentration
-To Tell the Truth
-Pyramid (technically only one deceased host-Cullen)
-The Joker's Wild
-Password

It is not the name of a city, and I believe the term 'structure' would be misleading.

That's somewhat misleading, though also a clue. The person who hosted the show when the place took its name is not living. Using the other example, I wouldn't say "yes and no" about Truth or Consequences, NM just because Larry Anderson is still alive. The place took its name at a particular point in history, and the host of the show at that point in history is no longer alive.

At least one person here knows it, he's just letting other people guess.

In 1964, as a bonus on "The Price Is Right", Bill Cullen gave away an island in the Thousand Island chain. To this day, it is named Price Is Right Island.

I don't know anything about the organization, but the BoatU.S. Magazine disputes that claim.

A story continues to make the rounds, especially on the Internet, about one of the islands in the area taking the name "The Price Is Right Island" after a contestant won it on the Price Is Right television show back in 1964. Didn't happen.

"We've never heard of Price Is Right Island," notes Wendy LaLonde of Hutchinson's Boatworks (a BoatU.S. Cooperating Marina with fuel and slip discounts for Members in Alexandria Bay. Still, people taking one of the many tour boats out of Alexandria Bay or Clayton or Henderson Harbor will ask if Price Is Right is a destination.

Well, ain't that a kick in the head. My site is one of the ones spreading that claim. I've used so many different resources to put that site together that I couldn't immediately tell you where I found that particular fact, but I usually rely on better sources than those "Did you know???" lists. I'll go back and see what I can find out. Meanwhile, a prize like that must have been from the prime time show, and a bunch of those aired on GSN. Does anybody remember seeing it?
Jimmy Owen
I was kinda hoping there might be a Callmy Bluff somewhere.
Jay Temple
It's located on the Isle of Lucy. (I can't take credit for that; I just don't remember my source, except to say that it was a printed cartoon.)
Jimmy Owen
Would Treasure Isle also count?

Sad to say, the Price is Right Island is looking like a myth (Sorry, Matt).

Tried the USGS site and the Canadian equivalent, no listings of a "Price is Right" island or reasonable variants. I guess it could have been renamed.

Then tried some newspaper searches, came up nothing other than unsupported fun facts type listings. Looks like the Thousand Islands Tourism Board should not be taken at face value.

It's not a printed cartoon, but an episode of "Super Chicken" (one of the segments of George of the Jungle) had Super Chicken tracking down the evil wizard Merlin Brando, who lived on the Isle of Lucy. Of course, it's quite possible you saw the joke somewhere else.

MMM is a winner, because it was definitely in Bil Keane's handwriting. The only question in my mind was whether it was an actual FC cartoon or just something Keane did on the side.

\Interesting thing I read about Bil Keane: He was friends with Charles Schulz, and when there was a TV special made of FC, he would not allow it to run opposite a Peanuts special.
