http://www.golden-road.net/index.php/topic,11476.0.htmlAccording to a poster called "nanny", who is apparently some sort of insider (and who correctly broke the news of Bart Eskander's firing), Syd Vinnedge won't be TPiR's executive producer next season.
Neither Marc or John have posted a confirmation yet.

Isn't it usually a very bad sign when top level production members start getting canned left and right? Does that ever work out in the end?
Besides, I thought Syd Vinnedge was the one driving for all the change that was supposed to happen recently and Drew was on board. Do they now disagree on the change we must change to the change we hold dear?

Ya know...if Syd's retirement is due to a (ongoing?) medical condition, that could explain M. Richards' hiring as a co-executive producer for essentially all of of season 37 for a succession plan. At the time.
I know John posted over at G-R that no immediate succession plan was/is in place...but I have a feeling that wasn't the case before Drew went de facto EP.
I do hope that everything is alright with Syd though.

Here's how the story goes...
Fremantle is taking over production of the show from TPIR Productions and Barker gives newbie Syd a list of names of people to fire in order to trim the fat, cut costs, pare down, lower the overhead, whatever. Syd obviously thinks this is a good idea and does it. Within days Fremantle's legal department gets the first attorney call that says "Where do I send the documents for the lawsuits?". The person at Fremantle is like "What lawsuits?" and the attorney explains that Syd Vinnedge has just fired the 5 people whose testimony caused Barker to lose his lawsuit against Holly! OMG!
And Syd Vinnedge went from being Vice President of Fremantle to being... a consultant!

The major players in the Curling lawsuit are all gone; Barker, Dobkowitz, Eskander. I personally think Bart would have been there til the end of Drew's second season like Roger was til the end of Drew's first season (and not
a day longer) except the latest depositions were especially damning against Bart and he was out within a week.
There have been other firings, but to the best of my knowledge they do not stem from the Curling lawsuit.
"Dobkowitz was released because he was resistant to change and didn't want any implemented." Roger I think would have changed his teeth to keep that job. But we all knew Roger was history the minute Barker was out, and it was just a matter of timing to get whoever the new host was going to be thru the first season. I believe Roger could have painted his head purple to show his willingness to change and it wouldn't have mattered because his fate was sealed. (And he was the one who sealed it.)
