That shot must have been taken BEFORE Rod insisted on being paid over-scale (and deservedly so) for the Nighttime Specials and Barker yanked Rod's closeups. Why, they almost look chummy!
Bob still looks human. I'm guessing that pic is at least 15 years old?

Going into full-on dork mode here...the strips on the Big Doors haven't been painted gold yet, so it's from the spring of 1992 at the very latest.
...and actually, looking at it closer, there appear to be some military insignias behind them, so I'm gonna hazard a guess that this is from the May 27, 1991, episode, on which everyone in the audience was a member of the armed forces.
