First ever GSN Awards show tainted by latest Bob Barker scandal!
http://buzzerblog.flashgameshows.com/game-...vs-betty-white/Buzzerblogsters have started the "FYB" movement, and some GSN.commers are calling for a boycott of the first GSN Awards show, and also showing a line of FYB t-shirts Barker protesters can wear to the event!
Whether or not any of this is true, other than the fight between Barker and Betty over the elephant, three things are certain; 1)The comments and posts are 99.9999%
anti Barker. 2) The "Bob's A God" worshippers are errily quiet on the subject, maybe they're organizing to plant pro-Bob defense posts on all websites, or maybe they've finally gotten a clue!. And 3) Barker's panicking Spin Doctors haven't slept in 36 hours!
PS. I heard that the Animal Planet is going to run a special Animal Psychic show in which the frightened elephant confesses that she doesn't want to leave her family and friends and be relocated to San Andreas CA (who would?)
PPS. The elephant will be wearing a XXXXXXXlarge FYB t-shirt on the show. ;)

Well, how was the perception of Barker against Janice Pennington, Holly Hallstrom, Kathleen Bradley, Dian Parkinson, Sherrill Paris, Sharon Freim, Linda Riegert, Paul Alter, Barbara Hunter, Deborah Curling, Marc Breslow, Claudia Jordan, Sylvia Clement-Henry and Nikki Ziering? But in all those cases, he stood (or hid) behind the company which took the heat for it (publicly at least). There is no company to cover for him this time.

I'll try this one more time:
EVERY source that has reported this points back to someone who got this story out of the National Enquirer.
Not Weekly World News by any stretch, granted, but certainly not a source deserving of as much indignation and gravitas as has been displayed in this thread.

The National Enquirer is not in the business of fighting losing battles in libel suits. They know how litigious Barker is and if they printed false information which was unfavorable to Barker, they could likely expect a knock on the door from a lawyer representing Barker.

I would never stoop as low as Barker consistently has in recent years. I would have treated my staffers and models with respect and I wouldn't have tried to play revisionist history. And I sure as heck wouldn't have tried to piss off Betty, at the very least so she wouldn't go Lake Placid on me!

Don't think it'll get you banned (I don't speak for the mods), but it's time to put things in perspective here. Assuming the
Enquirer is correct, then yes, Barker is by all means an egotistical prick who should be ashamed at himself. But to wish death upon him is pretty harsh.
BTW, it's not fair to paint the awards show in a bad light because of this. Barker unfairly put GSN between a rock and a hard place: making them decide between one of the more prolific game show hosts in TV history, or one of the more prolific panelists. Not diminishing Betty by any means, but I think if they had to make a decision, considering Barker's getting an award, it would look kinda tacky if your "lifetime achievement guest" were actually present, and not MIA due to a f**kin' elephant.
Crappy decision to make either way, and shame on Barker for putting GSN in that position.

So now you renege on your decision, making you look completely tacky? Not to mention, you pull an award for a notorious prima donna who pulled a prima donna move in order to accept the damn award in the first place? GSN is adding enough to this alleged feud, albeit involuntarily. No sense in voluntarily shooting themselves in the foot.
Unfortunately, there is no winner in this scenario (pardon the pun). And unfortunately, letting your prima donna attend after he gives you an ultimatum is the best way to save face.

No it isn't. I'd rather have not dealt with him in the first place or are the only people on Earth who see Barker as a mega-jerk us and the people he treated like trash? What does GSN have to lose shooting themselves in the foot?
Maybe I'm just the type of person who doesn't care what happens, but I'd rather live with the negative publicity if it means that the public sees the jerk they coddled for a half-century. Doesn't change my view that soybeans>Barker.

Nobody on earth should like that non-human. At all. The world needs no love for him and it's time for the era of extreme animal rights to end. Sure, furs are bad and veggie wings are good, but the movements have gone too far and it was nice before 1981 when it went downhill thanks to PETA's founding and Dorthy Jo's death.

The more and more I read about Bob and his antics, the more and more I realize this guy was one of the worst ego-strokers in history. Of course, when a man demands to be referred to as "The World's Greatest Master of Ceremonies", going so far as to have it plastered on his dressing room door, you're gonna have to assume that he has an ego problem. It hurts me a lot because like all of us Bob was a part of my childhood, and one of the reasons why, as a child, I wanted to be a game show emcee...It's always hurtful when a part of your childhood dies. Apologizing to all the people he hurt and waving the white flag with this elephant thing would be a start. Recanting for his revisionist history of his pro-fur past would be good too as would allowing GSN to all all of TPIR with a cigarette show-style stipulation for fur shows would be even better.

For the record, Betty didn't show, Barker did.
And upon receiving his "Legend" award proceeded to give a speech about how he can officially call himself a "Legend" and how until they give the award away next year (Assuming there is a next year) he can be referred to as "THE Legend".
My husband, knowing nothing about Barker or his antics, gave me a look that said "Is this guy for real?"
