Is that a sorry as in "posted before"? If so, these are two different (and imho full-o-crap) lists (25 "Best"/25 "Worst").

I meant to link directly to post fifteen, where discussion of the second list commences.

If you could take about half of the "Best" list... and half of the "Worst" list, and rearrange it... it might actually make a pretty good list.

But seriously... Card Sharks on the "Worst" list?!?!?! Though I would consider the Bullard version for a possible "Worst Revivals Ever" list.

I've never been a huge fan of this show, mainly due to the fact they let the contestants prattle on in the front game. Drop that and the game speeds up proportionally.

That was my biggest peeve with the show. I don't need a roundabout explanation as to why someone thinks 67 people had fantasies about their elementary school teacher.

But then on the other hand, what's the fun/point when someone just says "I think it's eighteen, Bill."?

It used to be this way when Perry's Card Sharks first started. I am glad they added the explanations because it got quite boring when they would just answer.

Everything is worse during Kids Week. And then came the lies the following Monday, "We had calls flooding the switchboard over the weekend telling us how much they loved seeing the youngsters, so we're going to do it again". Yippy freakin' skippy! That's another week I won't have to watch.
It's Young People's Week on Card Sharks!!!!!! Complete with shots of parents in the audience and Bob Eubanks giggling more than ever. Off.

Is it possible they tag their site with the "Adult Content" flag so that their writers can use profanity in their pieces? It probably doesn't help that this is the first sentence of their "About Us" blurb:

Sure sounds like that would be enough to set off the filters...

(Although upon looking at the front page of the site- and why I did this I don't know- it doesn't seem like enough unless I clicked further, which I wasn't about to do.)

It was last night.
When I saw Classic Concentration as the lead entry (#25) of the 25 worst, I knew I was in for dumpth. Before that, I just thought I would be. Then we got to $ale of the Century, the U.S. hosts were listed and we're treated to a photo of an overseas version (and I believe that was Simon Cowell in that shot).
Pop Crunch would make a great show. So would Ponzi Scheme.

I know what you mean but...hey, it's part of the show! It's one of those things that drives me crazy but I love it at the same time. Another example of this is (and please, nobody attack me for this, because I love him as much as anybody) when Bill Cullen delays the gameplay in Blockbusters by rambling on, or restating the rules of the game ("Oh... see what happens here? If John gets it, it's game and match and he goes on to play for another $5000. Cathy and Marge, you really want to try and block now.") It's not just the gameplay that makes a great game show, but also the personalities and idiosyncracies of the people on that show, be they contestants or emcees.

Imagine if "Match Game" was just straight gameplay and no fooling around.

That Don Guy
How did Supermarket Sweep and Shop 'til You Drop make the list, and Rodeo Drive did not? Half of the show was true/false (excuse me - "truth or rumor") questions about celebrities. (Okay, Hollywood Squares (and Battlestars...and All-Star Blitz, for that matter) were pretty much entirely yes/no questions as well, but at least they threw in the celebrity humor element.)

Also, The Chair is included while The Chamber is not?

I think they were going for shows with some modicum of success.
The Ol' Guy
So how old is this writer? 25? 28? 19? Jeez...when all the shows are in color, you know this is nobody with an inkling of any tv history. Where's Judge For Yourself? 50s Strike It Rich? Queen For A Day? Showdown? Anybody Can Win? Sense or Nonsense? Even if you didn't agree with these, at least you can say the author really took a look at the worst of ALL time.
