Wow! Exact address and everything! You can even run the address through Google maps and get a ground-level photograph of the immediate neighborhood!

(Is that such a great idea? Well, if you're desperate enough to be on a TV game show ...)

And to think on the Cullen eps of TPiR, he would read a sweepstakes winner's ENTIRE address off...

There was a time when you could send an SASE and get a complete winners list of whatever contest was being held nationally. It was a different time, I guess.

Pretty much the same on Let's Make a Deal during the '75-76 syndicated season when celebrities were playing for home viewers. At first when I saw those reruns, it surprised me that they would do that.

/I wonder if those people are still living at those addresses...

They took it a step further on Art James' short-lived 60s entry, Matches 'n Mates, and actually showed the home viewers' full addresses on-screen! Def a different era, LOL.

I think you still can for most promotions; while I'm not certain, I think it is required by law.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Opportunity Knocks the first game show to be an Fall line up since 100 Grand in 1963?

Unless I'm mis-interpreting, how about Deal or No Deal, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? and Don't Forget the Lyrics! in 2007? (Not to mention 2008.)

Interpreted literally, gotta include Millionaire in 2000/2001.

I think he means premiered on a fall lineup.
Jimmy Owen
"Big Deal" was considered a fall premiere. TV Guide gave it a page in their Fall Preview issue.
