I logged on this morning, and got a message that the domain name expired. I wonder if Steve Beverly has recognized this and is in the process of fixing it.

I doubt very seriously it's gone. Steve's not the sort to just drop something he's worked on for so long. If he'd really decided to hang it up, we'd be seeing story after story for months leading up to the end date. Probably just yet another technical snafu he's having to deal with.

And if he does...... so what? It's his website, his prerogative. Personally, I do read his website on occasion, and it's one where I'm sure more casual fans may check for their info.

Sure it is. Nobody's saying otherwise. I personally don't think the Perfesser has nearly as much of a penchant for reneging that Mark does (last time, he said he was gonna dial it back to a couple times a week, and lo and behold, he did), but if he did, he wouldn't be breaking any laws. He would just induce a lot of eyerolling the next time Perfesser Chicken Little decided to hang it up.

I'm personally in the "yeah, he'll quit for a while, but he'll make a "triumphant" return once he realizes that the phone has stopped ringing" camp.

What professor doesn't take a sabbatical once in a while? The perf will be back!

Seriously, he prides himself on being (in his mind) *the* source on game show news without taking any of the credit for it (i.e., his referrals to himself in the third person). Anyone with an ego that big won't stay away for long. He'll be back, and I'll open the bar with glasses of Alka-Seltzer on the house as soon as he does.
