A 16mm kinescope of the Jim Lange hosted "Oh My Word" with guest stars Anna Maria Alberghetti and George Kennedy. Looks to be in decent shape too.

Oh God, I reviewed a concert of hers once. What do you say about her besides "Anna Maria Alberghetti in a taxi, honey..."

Why is Jim wearing a tux and George is not?

It's not a high price for a kinescope compared to what I've seen in other auctions. If only I could think of how much a transfer cost would be from a professional organization!

When I was looking for two film prints to be transfered I was quoted anywhere from $200 to $450 using a sprint transfer process. I was given a $100 quote , but this was using an old Watergate transfer process, and this process will not get the greatest quality.

The problem with Watergate transfers: that damned 18-minute gap in the tape.

Absolutely brilliant. Very well played.

I always use a place that would probably charge me $120 to transfer the whole thing if I bought it. Their work is first-rate as well.

Well the episode went for $86.09 plus shipping. Congrats to whoever won it, if it was anyone here.

Here's another item... an episode of Cullen's Price is Right. Seems a little high priced for something that you'd basically be buying sight unseen. If there were proof that it was good quality, it would be a different story.

Not to mention it's only one episode of something for which many dozens of episodes are available from other sources, most notably the four that are part of the TPIR DVD set.

If it was the only representative episode of a Cullen show out there, you know I'd be all over it. In fact, I paid ridiculous 16mm collector prices for Professor Yes 'n' No, but managed to get a pretty decent transfer for free by calling in a favor at the university where I do my show. I did that because nobody else had one, except for a second episode I've seen at UCLA. I can't imagine paying $100 or more for a TPIR episode when so many are already floating around.

With regard to the eBay seller of the TPIR ep, I would point out to **all** prospective bidders the following thread from another forum:

...just so they can make an informed decision as to whether or not to bid on this item.

Sorry about that-- but the registration is free, and the info is, I think, well worth the short time it takes to do so.

Here's the title of thread that I was attempting to link to:

"Brian Sarnowski AKA Metallicat6898 on Ebay - Caution!"

I just want everyone to know what they could be getting into...

The ads for Hunts make it sound like it could be a daytime episode from the ABC period (they are the sponsor on the Jack Clark guest host episodes that are out) and there aren't too many of those out.
ChuckNet
Those OMW eps also aren't as rare as one would think, since 2 have recently surfaced on the trading circuit over the last coupla years and don't require a time-consuming transfer process in order to view them.

Here's something that might be an interesting test of 16mm collecting.

It's an episode of I've Got A Secret from January, 1964. This print does NOT have original commercials (at least that's what I infer from the description of 'splices' at the breaks), and it appears to be missing most of the first segment, something the seller refers to as 'slightly edited.' The starting bid is $24.95, pretty low from what I'm seeing of these things. Still, it's interesting to note that this particular episode happens to have aired within the last couple of months on GSN with all segments intact. I'll be anxious to see what happens.

The winning bidder would turn around and offer to sell guitar picks with Bill Cullen's face on them. But hurry, there are only 10,000 available :)

I remember buying a dvd w/ this episode on it, it was only $2, but with the show being "slightly edited" I feel ripped off. I remember watching the first half when the show aired on GSN, didn't watch the the rest when it aired.

Hmm, I think I have that one on a store-bought DVD myself. Maybe that was the source print.

Now it seems an episode of The Newlywed Game has turned up from 68... complete with a preview of the first minute or so. Looks nice, and a low price to boot.

*This* is one I'd personally be interested in myself, but also not only do I not know of a source to cost-effectively transfer it, but I don't have the money to buy the thing in the first place.

Up now on the auction block, episodes of Strike it Rich and Blind Date w/ Arlene Francis.
