Before thinking that it would be a really good idea to post an "April Fools" joke of any sort, please read the following:

Since it has been brought to our attention that tomorrow is April First, I doubt very seriously that anyone is going to be "fooled" by fictional posts. Therefore, the whole point of doing them is now eliminated. I strongly suggest that no one bothers.

Also, tomorrow is "April Fools Day", not "April Try-To-Be-Funny Day". It is not a day to post outrageously wrong information that isn't meant to fool anybody. These posts are archived, and searchers in the months and years ahead may not notice that an old post carries an April 1st date.

Simply put, posting false information is not allowed on this board.

I think Matt will agree that we are OK with patently absurd posts in moderate quantities on April Fool's day. Things like "CBS Cancels Price", "Barker Kicks the Bucket" or "FCC Says Jeopardy! Rigged" are too plausible and do not pass the "patently absurd" test.

Also, it's "April Fool's" day, not "Everybody's a (Wannabe) Comedian" Day.

In the past, those who have chosen to disregard the above have spent time in the Isolation Booth as a result, and that will be the case this year as well if it happens again. And before you think of replying "but <name of other board> lets me do it," please be aware that that is not an acceptable excuse for breaking this or any other rule.

Thank you for your attention. That is all.
