This just crossed my computer. I can't explain why NBC chose this particular week to do it, but then again, it's hard to explain anything they do anymore.

Deal or No Deal's "Overkill Week" (my name for it) will be the week of December 10th (6 hours in 5 days):

Monday Dec 10: DOND airs 2 separate hours at 8 and again at 10PM

Tuesday Dec 11: Another one hour Deal at 9PM (the usual time & day).

Wednesday Dec 12: A 2-hour Deal from 8-10PM

Friday December 14: The other normal airing of Deal at 8PM.

Between this and the desperation to give away a million bucks, I feel this season is going to be the swan song for DOND as a prime-time NBC offering. And it certainly didn't help near the end of last season to have all those players who actually tried to walk away with the lowest amount they could "hope" to get as if it were some sort of positive achievement.

Maybe they'll go full gusto and offer $100 Million in one of the cases

Sounds like a catchup for putting that "Phenomenon" psychic show on for six Wednesdays starting next week. They gotta run those suckers somewhere.

And the week after that, I'm presuming that the choir reality comp will be going head-to-head with "NBN"'s last chance to prove itself almost every night on ABC.
