Full Version: SFX Suggestions on Game Shows

Here are the sound effect suggestions that I would like to see instituted on certain game shows.

On "Family Feud", I would use the TPIR foghorn for a third strike or an unsuccessful steal, and for a Fast Money loss, I would first do the foghorn, followed by the downward groan/glass shattering combination from TPIR '94.

On "Deal or No Deal", I would use a car crashing sound if $500,000 to $1 Million is knocked off the board (or if there is a very small win by the contestant at the end), the regular big loss cue for $200,000 to $400,000, and the big thump sound for $50,000 to $100,000. I would use a "ca-ching" sound if $.01 through $50 is knocked off the board, or if there is a big win.

You can't always get what you want.

/That was a great song.

What exactly did Mark Goodson say to you when you contacted him about your Feud suggestion?

He just wants to say his peace. Doesn't hurt. Sounds interesting (just a bit) but of course will never happen.
I believe in Miracles... but this isn't one of them.

/that was also a great song :)

I think the only use was the recent 0/6, $0 Showdown, DOB "El Stinko" episode.

On TPIR, I would have added buzzers to the following games that did not have them before:

Any Number - when a player places a number in the Piggy Bank; losing horns for filling in all three numbers
Money Game - when a player uncovers a dollar sign; losing horns for not winning the car
Switcheroo - placing the wrong number in the car (at which point the price of the car is revealed)
Lucky Seven - over buzzer and losing horns for losing all seven dollars

This is the only one that would make sense, because in the others, they still technically WIN *SOMETHING*, thus the losing horns aren't appropriate.

Money Game did use the klaxon buzzer (not the common buzzer) for a time if all four $'s were filled in first.

And Switcheroo technically does use both buzzers, though not for the reason you would use them (klaxon for the end of time signal, common if no prices are right in any one turn).

I do like your suggestions for Any Number and Lucky Seven, though.

They already do that.

They only do half of that. They don't use a buzzer.

I didn't know Foghorn Leghorn was in the running to replace Bob!
The first, I say, the FIRST item up for bids, y'all...

Eh, I think it mucks things up a little too much...I'm of the opinion that you don't need a sound effect for every single occurrence.

A buzzer's probably more right than a bell for those scenarios, but I could take it or leave it.
