Aside from the iToys handheld Password game, here's the Million Dollar Password version:

From 5 AM to 1 PM tomorrow, this 3-pack will be $19.99 at Toys R Us.

My Toys R Us ad has this at $24.99, so shop carefully.

Picked up Million Dollar Password ar Target for $19.99- and it was a "Only at Target" special edition- it has more cards (20 extra themed frontgame rounds). The timer is pretty neat- it plays the countdown music while the clock is going.

The timer is also really freaking loud - like, shout-your-clues loud - and since there's no volume control, I think I'm going to have to scope out a piece of acoustic foam or something to put over the speaker. Still, overall, a very nice package with quite good execution, and the addition of the theme/category front game cards can be a good way to level the playing field if kids are playing. Endless has put out some quality product as of late.

Oh, and it's on sale at Target for $17.99.

Seconded. I remember not liking them when they first came out for basically repackagaing old versions of game shows, like Price and Feud. Compared to then, they're much better now.

Either it's sold out or the Target near me doesn't carry it. It's not on their website either. Ditto for Wal-Mart and Toys 'R' Us. Ah, well. Guess I'll have to go out to B&N and pay a few bucks more, or wait 'til after Christmas to see if I can get it for less.

It's more expensive than foam, but also has heaps more utility: find the G8 Game Timer by Dream Green. It's maggoty with customizability, and the tones are quiet.

(Plus you can reset the timer back to the full clock with two taps of the center button.)

Just scored the new MDP game myself today.

I must admit to taking great pleasure in the breaking apart of the game cards. It reminded me of my younger days of breaking up the game cards to older games back in the day.

Now let's see 'em do a Password Plus or a Deluxe Card Sharks game like this. :D

Now in the UK- Why deal with the pain and suffering of lugging around multiple boxes on game night, when you could have four games in one? Includes everything needed to play The Price is Right, Blockbusters, Play Your Cards Right, and Family Fortunes, complete with electronic "uh uh" buzzer (that thing is in almost EVERY FF home game now).

The Ol' Guy
After my third visit to our local Target and coming up empty, one of the floor staff approached me to ask what I was after. She typed Million Dollar Password into her scanning gun and found a case of 6 in the back room - so don't be afraid to ask! A beautiful young lady and a beautiful game. I'm joining you in high hopes for future Endless products.

He has plenty of good points, but it also sounds like this guy has a few (legitimate) axes to grind outside of the actual game.

That was clearly a freelance job from some kid looking to make a name for himself as a reviewer. And he failed. That was utter crap writing.

Oh, easily.

The game does have plenty of flaws but... reviews like that are why I don't generally 'use' reviews for anything.

The unfortunate side of things is that it is rather expensive to purchase a game, only to end up not liking it. Some companies (Electronic Arts is the best, in my experience) care about their customers having a positive experience, others (Atari, Sony) couldn't care less if you are happy with their games.

Really. Maybe its only in their EA Sports division, then. Every time I have been dissatisfied with one of their games (usually their NASCAR products), I simply send the game back to EA. They send me a new, sealed copy, and I take it back to the store and get my money back. They have never declined a request.

Which is why I really stick to what I know I like. I've only returned two games in the last like five years. The TPIR game wasn't quite what I hoped, but I've still enjoyed it nevertheless.

Don't get me started on Sony. My dim view of them couldn't get dimmer if you threw a sheet over it.

Could you explain? I've never heard of anybody doing what Mark did there, but if that's true (and not an unofficial policy he's created unknowingly) that sounds like good customer relations. Albeit, I don't know why a company would make it easier on you to return their games, but...

If I understand Chris correctly, to explain it sufficiently to make it understandable is to fail to avoid what he's trying to avoid by not explaining it.

(I should know--I just tried about three different ways myself, and gave up. Jason's last sentence in his last post bears some further thought, though.)

Even with the free-spinning wheel that doesn't so much as click between the spaces, and what seems to be an incredibly rudimentary implementation of a very limited amount of games?

Those things considered, $14.66 for a mini-Plinko board is approaching my threshold for reasonable. It'll definitely be something I consider post-holiday.

Two items of note at Target:

1) MDP board game is on sale for $18 (normally $30).

2) There's an interesting new TP electronic handheld game (site says "temporary low price", stores say "clearance") for $25 (normally $50). Looks like you can plug this into your computer and download more questions or write your own.

It's actually the regular board game with an electronic question bank instead of the boxes of cards. It apparently also has a timer built in to the unit, and the downloadable questions are free.

If it gets cheaper in the brick and mortar stores, I might take a flier on it.

New Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game from Capcom is now available on iTunes for iPhone and iPod touch.

I believe this is the first home version to feature the new lifelines and the countdown clock.

Sells for $4.99. Requires firmware 2.0+.
chad1m
I just downloaded it, and let me say that it is VERY, VERY well done. All the new lifelines, rules (category menu), graphics, sounds and music. Ten different experts, taken from the real show, are available during the game. I'm impressed with how well done this is. Definitely worth your five dollars.

My only gripe about the iPhone WWTBAM game:

Couldn't something have been done to eliminate duplicates in each category menu?

It's a great game, and that's one of three minor gripes with it:

1. Those duplicate categories.
2. No "Question Start" sting, it jumps straight into the question music.
3. Double Dip doesn't keep the clocking going down after the first wrong guess.

Nice Touches:
1. Themes are all there - including each separate countdown theme per question.
2. Ticking is separate from theme.
3. Experts are helpful.
4. Meridith has different outfits for the welcoming video.

//And the Contacts Pictures/Names showing up for "Phone-A-Friend" is genius!

Several months back, there was a thread about a WiiWare game called TV Show King. Less than 2 months ago, a disc-based version called TV Game King Party was released for $30. Micro Center slashed the price in half, down to $15, which is $5 more than the WiiWare price tag. From what I see, this is an in-store deal only. Unfortunately, there are only 21 brick-and-mortar stores and at least one store is sold out; I picked up the last copy from the Cleveland/Mayfield Hts. location yesterday afternoon.

Is the retail game any better than the WiiWare one? 'Cuz from what I saw the WiiWare game blew goats and wasn't worth $5, much less $10 or $15.
