Basically talks of how daytime game shows are popping up, and also discusses how "Lingo" and "Cash Cab" plan to submit Daytime Emmy entries.

These articles pop up about once every 3-5 years, when game shows become popular again. I remember seeing a similar one when Hollywood Squares took off in 1998, and again in '02 for Pyramid and Millionaire.

The site also features an ad for "Crosswords".

I'm surprised Lingo didn't submit any sooner. Certain players aside, it's a really good game.

Has Cash Cab aired any new episodes recently? For some reason, I can't see why they'd be eligible if they hadn't...maybe I'm just imagining things.

(remembered a guy at Chain Reaction tryouts discussing Cash Cab- he had lost, and wasn't too happy about being dropped in the street, saying they should have given him cab fare to get from there to his destination.)

Doesn't the dude explain the rules up front, and then confirm that the contestant does in fact want to play?

He does...I think I read there's other things involved prior to that, but once you get in the cab you get the explanation and the option of whether you want to play or not.

I had to refrain from yelling at the guy, but I had other things on my mind, especially concerning a snafu the contestant coordinators and one of my team members were a part of...I'm willin' to share if anyone wants to know.

What's he complaining about? He got halfway there for free. There ain't much you can get in New York for free.

Beats me. Maybe he was just sore that he didn't win any money, I don't know.

I wonder if I should submit my concept of "The Rebus Bus," where passengers are driven to a fabulous vacation spot--if they can put together picture clues found along the highway. If they can't, they are dropped off at the nearest rest area.

I suspect "Lingo" might've submitted entries sooner, except that GSN wasn't in the minimum number of cable homes for Emmy eligibility (which is half of the total of U.S. television homes, or potential television homes in the case of the premium channels).

It seems to me that Fremantle has never submitted this incarnation of "Feud" for the Emmys (and with such a small field out there, it might've made it on some ballots). It would seem to me that O'Hurley would be putting the screw on Fremantle to at least submit him for host--or he could just do it himself.
