On Monday the 29th, TCM is airing a bunch of generation-gap movies from the 50s and 60s about the scary new music that the teens of the day were into, and how those evil square oldsters don't get it. The last of these movies, airing at around 5:45 PM ET*, is Because They're Young, starring Dick Clark.
The flimsy plot is that Clark plays a teacher who cares about his students when none of the other adults seem to; indeed, his caring about his students is a source of consternation with the principal. Meanwhile, there's a romantic interest between Clark and the principal's secretary. Cameos in this movie include Duane Eddy and James Darren
Amongst the other movies, there's Bill Haley performing in Rock Around the Clock at 7:30 AM, and several with Chubby Checker cameos: Twist Around the Clock at 9:00 AM; Don't Knock the Twist at noon; and probably the best of the day's movies, It's Trad, Dad at 4:30 PM. Also scheduled to air, between "Rock Around the Clock" and "Twist Around the Clock" is the hilariously dated short "Teenagers on Trial".
*TCM's program guide lists the previous movie, "It's Trad, Dad", with a run-time of 73 minutes and starting at 4:30 PM. However, the last time it aired, it had a run-time longer than the 75 minutes it's been allotted in the schedule. IMDb also lists "It's Trad, Dad" as having a 78-minute run-time. So, "Because They're Young" may begin a few minutes late.

Sorry to respond to my own post, but Dick Clark the actor is showing up on TCM again, on Tuesday, April 24, in
The Young Doctors, at 1:15 PM ET.
Dick Clark gets some star power to accompany him, in the form of two-time Best Actor Oscar winner Fredric March. Also in the cast is
Dick Button (yes, the figure skater -- if Sonja Henie could do movies, why not Dick Button?)

Thanks for the information! Unfortunatly, I missed "Because They're Young", but will not miss this one!

The Paramount/CBS DVD release of The Odd Couple Season 1 today, includes a bonus disc not available in the original Time-Life version of the season release, and one of the bonus episodes (The 4th of 4 on the disc) is episode #76, The New Car - features Mr. Clark.
("Password", featuring Allen & Betty, also happens to be an episode on the bonus disc).

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the newer models of TiVo include a Dick Button to instantly record obscure movies starring Dick Clark.

Actually, that's not *quite* what the Dick Button is for.

For those who didn't get to see The Young Doctors back in April, TCM is airing it again overnight tonight, ie. 12:15 AM ET, Saturday, July 14. (Note that the movie starts on Friday July 13 for those of you not in the Eastern Time Zone.)
Warning (slight spoiler): Dick Clark wasn't a very good actor. God knows he looks like he's trying, but he just doesn't have the ability.... But the movie is still fun -- Fredric March turns in a fine performance, and Dick Clark is at least good for a few laughs. Dick Clark's half of the story is predictable, though -- he wants a new test performed for his pregnant wife, and when March's character nixes it, you know what's going to happen in the rest of that half of the movie. But at least when Dick is asking for the test to be performed we get to see him show his passion by throttling one of his fellow doctors. :-)
