Today's the first day of GSN double-running SP and it looks like they're just going in taping sequence with the two daily episodes instead of splitting the runs up. However, it appears that we skipped the week with Bob/Ginny Newhart and Dick/Dolly Martin (due to airing rights, no doubt) and jumped forward to somewhere not in the beginning of the following week (Linda Dano, Kale Browne, Peggy McCay, John Aniston). If the theory about there being three episodes per tape (resulting in two "embargoed" tapes), I'd assume they're showing Tuesday's episode from that week.

That's too bad. The two Newhart/Martin weeks were particularly hilarious. And Ginny proved to be quite a good "Password" player.

GSN has never aired any Newhart Tattletales episodes either, and I remember those being quite funny from watching them originally.

I wonder if it's Ginny who vetoed the episodes being shown on GSN, because we've sure seen Bob on the Marshall "Hollywood Squares" a lot.

For those keeping track, we skipped one week (in original air order) past the one where Gene starts whispering the passwords. I wonder if the Richard Kline/Abby Dalton week was either lost or was just taped later than everything else.

If there were returning champions involved, it'd be a little hard to tape the Kline/Dalton week later. Unless I'm missing something.

Could be the GSN monkeys are holding that week for ransom (me thinks the brass has been giving them rotten bananas)

So which celebs are we up to now?

In the past, GSN ran the full Dalton/Kline week at least twice, and it was definitely the first week where Gene whispered the passwords. (Bert mentioned it on the air -- after he had been talking through it for the entire first puzzle.) I guess they skipped them. Sorry, guys -- got your hopes up for nothin'.

I'm thinking the same thing. GSN has also run Bob's appearances on WML? and the original Password in the past, so I think Ginny may be the holdout here.
