I would hope that theologians have better things to discuss than what constitutes a Plinko win. :) (Actually, no, that seems as good as anything they would be discussing, on second glance.)

"A chip hits the 10,000 slot" is a perfectly reasonable definition to me, though.

I won't even bother to quibble about the spoilery bit, I'm going to bitch because it's yet another special demographic episode that gives away a bonus prize just for getting on stage and this is all for a group of people I have zero chance of joining. Boo.

Fixed that for you.

Really, are the special shows *that* big of a deal? By that definition you should have been hopping mad when they did the Game Show Hosts tournament on Card Sharks and Scrabble.

I just plain don't like the concept of, "Here, have a trip because you won your Item up for Bids."

Wedding shower? Valentine's sweethearts? Teen drivers? Yes. If you want to salute moms on Mother's Day, teachers in September and veterans on Veterans/Memorial Day, that's fine and dandy. As a confirmed single guy I would not be able to participate in that show, which cheeses me off. That the pairs win a bonus prize (after having just won something to get onstage, mind) is double annoying.

Why? They're playing the same game as before, and I wouldn't ever get on the show as part of a hosts tournament. Scrabble didn't give the Couples Week players a trip to anywhere for getting to the Scrabble Sprint, did they?

Want to give a bonus prize to the end-of-show winner, that's something else. It felt dopey that everyone got something just for winning the preliminary bit.

It's a special, sponsored show, and the prize is furnished by the sponsor. It's not much different than "And everyone in the audience is getting Small Prize X today."

Change is hard. I know.

Unless you got turned away from Television City on the day of taping, you weren't participating in that show anyhow.

And the people who suck so much at bidding that they don't get on stage get a prize too. Is that annoying?

This is my point. If EVERYONE for 40 years received a bonus prize for getting onstage, you wouldn't be saying boo because that's the way it's always been and it just is. You have a problem with it because it's different from the norm.

I am truly stunned, because my reaction was, really, honestly, "hey, kinda cool."
